My First Attempt at Capturing Cinematic Headshots Indoors
Written on the 16th of September, 2025
This photoshoot was my first attempt at capturing cinematic headshots in an indoor setting. I had the pleasure of collaborating with the exceptionally talented model, Tania Aresti. Together, we engaged in an inspiring discussion to align our creative visions for the project. After an invigorating brainstorming session, we ultimately chose to conduct the shoot in Tania's own apartment, where we planned to utilize the beautiful external view from her window as the background for the cinematic headshot.
While the lighting on Tania was truly stunning, the external environment presented some challenges. The background was less than ideal, as her apartment overlooked a dull building that dulled the vibrancy of the scene, even after adjusting the contrast and saturation to their limits.
Additionally, the limited space of the apartment added another layer of complexity to our shoot. The compact environment made it difficult to maneuver and achieve the desired compositions, forcing us to adapt our approach and find creative solutions to still capture Tania's unique essence against the unremarkable background.
